The rented aircraft based in Ireland Macquarie Airfinance announced on Tuesday the purchase of 30 Boeing 737-8 aircraft, its second direct order from the manufacturer, a trusted brand for the manufacturer of US aircraft that has accumulated difficulties in recent years.
The lessor who counts among his clients Air France, British Airways, Easyjet or Air Canada, does not specify the price of the transaction.
But “this purchase carries the 737 Max Macquorie Airfinance command in 70 planes,” he said in a statement.
“The proven reliability of 737 Max and its reduced operating costs make it particularly attractive to airlines,” said the company. The delivery of airplanes is planned by 2032.
More than 100 aircraft bought by Korean Air
The order “attests to the value of this plane to the rental companies (aircraft) and our airlines customers”, for its part, applauded Brad McMullen, a sales and marketing manager in Boeing, in a press release from the manufacturer of airplanes.
Boeing is going through a deep crisis due to the quality problems of its production and a strike that crawls in the United States.
The group was remarkably affected by an incident in January 2024 in a 737 Max 9 of the Alaska Airlines company that had lost a fuselage shortly after takeoff.
The American manufacturer, strongly in red in 2024, also suffered a new air disaster in June, when a Boeing 787 from Air India crashed less than a minute after taking off from the city of Ahmedabad in India.
However, Boeing has managed to divide his loss into two in the second quarter to $ 697 million.
And the company of Corean Air announced last week to buy it more than 100 aircraft for $ 50 billion as part of the largest contract in the history of South Korean aviation.
