It is the region with less general professionals per capita, decides to pay 69 health professionals.

Since 2019, the Loire Center-Center region, a territory at the least density of general doctors in France, employee health professionals to fill the deficit, a great challenge in the face of recruitment difficulties.

Salaried doctors in the field. In Patay, a small town in the beauty of 2,190 inhabitants located 30 kilometers from Orleans, the arrival of new caregivers was welcomed as a “relief”, rejoice one of the patients, Jacqueline Guignard. For several years, this 76 -year -old pensioner had no more doctor attending.

In this health center, one of the twenty who thanks the 69 professionals used by the region, the meetings are linked and is an entire city that recovers its autonomy, Jacqueline Mme Guignard.

Three doctors preferred salary earnings to the liberal and turned to guarantee consultations, such as Mathilde Pottier, 30, who found the opportunity to make “only doctor.”

With the medical secretaries present at the health center, “I could really get that time”, with the feeling of answering a “real need.”

“We avoid many hospitalizations”

In another center in Saint-Pierre-Des-Corps (INDRE-ET-LOIRE), Belkacem Otsmane also resorted to salary income after being “leachated by paperwork.” “The liberal activity is good, but it exhausted me. When we get here, everything is available for the doctor so that I can exercise: the center, the secretariat, the medical team,” he summarizes.

Historically, “many liberal doctors were installed” in this city of the metropolis of the tours, but “many have retired, so we quickly had very busy schedules” to respond to the gaps.

By reinstalling doctors in “under doing” territories, Dr. Ostran assures him:

According to the region, the Loire Center-Valo is the last in terms of medical density of the general doctors (101.8 per 100,000 inhabitants against 125.2 on average nationwide). Five of the six departments are below the hexagonal average of France and 25% of the inhabitants do not have a doctor.

“We have multiplied the initiatives in recent years to try to fill these gaps,” said the president of the François Bonneau (PS) region. The center of Loira was, therefore, the first territory to pay health professionals in 2019, without success in complying with the promise of 150 doctors in 2025, more than that of 300 hiring in 2028 should be.

75,000 consultations in 2025

A regional chamber report in 2023 also said that this model had not yet “demonstrated its capital gain.” “The objectives were ambitious, but all this is gaining impulse,” he wants to believe that Mr. Bonneau, indicating that participation with the Regional Public Interest Group (GIP), which wins doctors, would be less than one million euros in 2026.

All “health fields are today marked by the difficulty of recruitment, and what matters to us is to highlight the conditions of practice,” he adds.

“We have been precursors: Occitania and the Auverne-Rhône-Alpes region have been advancing since” “test” in the interest of the project, but also a form of new competition to attract new profiles.

Salaries have already made 75,000 consultations in 2025 and more than 27,000 Loire Center-Val inhabitants now have a treating doctor thanks to this device, depending on the region. “There is much to do, of course, but faced with such concern, it is quite significant,” concludes François Bonneau.
