Spain has made it better than expected. The National Statistics Institute (INE) reviewed the growth of the Spanish Gross Domestic Product in 2024, with 3.5%, 0.3 points more than the last estimate, announced this Friday, September 19 in a press release. As a comparison, French growth amounted to 1.2% in 2024.
GDP growth in 2023, on the other hand, was checked down and reduced to 2.5%, or two tenths less point. Another upward review, GDP growth in 2022, now estimated at 6.4%, or two more tenths.
This figure is now definitive, while those of 2023 and 2024 will be reviewed next September, the INE recalled. These modifications are part of the usual ordinary review cycle of national accounts led by the Institute, in coordination with the Bank of Spain and based on the data provided by the Public Administration.
2.7% planned in 2025
The projections for the fourth economy in the euro zone remain optimistic, according to the Spanish government, which indicated on Tuesday 0.1 points, to 2.7 %, its GDP growth forecasts in 2025.
He said he expected Spain to remain advanced growth this year. Spanish GDP continued its positive trend in the first quarter in which it increased by 0.6%, and in the second quarter (+0.7%).
Like the Government, the Spanish Bank indicated its growth forecasts by 2025 this week, which led them to 2.6 %, 0.2 points more than during its last estimate and a tenth more than the projections of the International Monetary Fund (2.5 %).
