The American civil aviation regulator, FAA, will authorize Boeing again to certify certain 737 Max, the first since 2019 and a consecutive suspension to two fatal accidents. A navigability certificate attests that a device has the necessary security guarantees to fly.
“In depth of the quality of Boeing production”
This decision, which will enter into force on Monday, was taken after “an in -depth review of the quality of Boeing production,” said the regulator. The FAA had banned this self -ercification in Boeing for six years, after accidents of two 737 Max 8 in 2018 and 2019, which had killed 346 people in total. It will also allow you to resume on Monday the certification of certain 787 Dreamliner, a prerogative whose aircraft manufacturer has been deprived since 2022 and the identification of quality problems.
According to the Wall Street Journal, FAA should also soon notice the monthly production ceiling of 737 Max, currently 38 copies, at 42. Appeared by AFP, FAA has not confirmed this information, simply specifying that in case of an application, the agency should perform a detailed evaluation.
The agency had established the limit in 38 in January 2024, after an incident aboard an Alaska Airlines plane, theft during which a door separated from the fuselage of a 737 Max 9, with only a few light injuries.
