France’s economic growth reached 0.5% in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the previous three months, driven by exports, according to a provisional estimate from the National Statistics Institute (Insee) that exceeds its initial forecast (0.3%).
Economy Minister Roland Lescure praised “a remarkable result” in a reaction sent to AFP. “Despite political unrest and international uncertainties, our companies are investing, exporting and moving the country forward,” he added.
In the second quarter, growth reached 0.3%, or 0.1 points higher than expected. This puts the euro zone’s second-largest economy on track to achieve the 0.7% growth expected by the government in 2025, better than Germany (0.2%), whose quarterly figures are also expected on Thursday along with Italy’s.
