UK: Chinese group CGN abandons the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project

The Chinese group CGN abandons the project of the British nuclear power plant Sizewell C, while London and EDF invest 700 million pounds each.

London has confirmed the exit of China’s CGN from the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project, and will inject around £700m into it, which includes CGN’s participation, according to a British government press release on Tuesday and comments from EDF, which co-investes

The French energy company, the main contractor for the project, is devoting an equivalent amount to it and will have a 50% stake in the new financial structure, on a par with London, Simone Rossi, AFP’s general director, told AFP. EDF Energy.
