Students will soon be driving the Ile-de-France trams. Keolis, the operator of the T9 line, launched in April 2021, posted a surprising announcement on November 22 on its site. While it is becoming increasingly difficult for carriers to find drivers and conductors, Keolis offers part-time permanent contracts (CDI), intended for students but also for young retirees, to transport passengers from Porte de Choisy, located southeast of Paris, to Orly (Val-de-Marne).
To fill this position, the public transport operator says it is looking for rigorous, punctual people, with a “sense of service and responsibility” and capable of “handling unexpected situations without stress”.
12.10 euros gross per hour and night bonuses
To apply, candidates must have a B permit. It is then a “paid internal training” alternating “theoretical and practical courses” that will allow them to acquire the necessary skills to take control of a tram.
On the remuneration side, Keolis offers 12.10 euros gross per hour to drivers. The company specifies that employees may receive, in addition to this basic salary, bonuses for night work, Sundays and holidays as well as a thirteenth month. Finally, he undertakes to find the “most suitable work organization (a) personal limitations” for new recruits.
