A new month begins, and with it a lot of news. Energy vouchers, Christmas bonus and repair bonus: here is everything that changes in December.
- A new aid for wood heating
Good news for those who heat with firewood: new aid will be available in December, of the same model as those offered to homes that use fuel oil. To benefit from it, you will have to connect to the chequenergie.gouv.fr site from December 22, then enter your teledeclarant number and the purchase invoice for the logs or pellets.
However, this new aid of 50 to 200 euros will be paid subject to income conditions: to benefit from it, it will not be necessary to earn more than 2,260 euros for a single person and more than 4,750 euros for a couple and two children.
- Exceptional energy check payment
Given the rise in energy prices, last September the government promised exceptional energy checks for the most modest homes. Now is the time for the recipients: these checks will be sent automatically at the end of December. Around 12 million households are affected, that is to say 40% of French households.
This check amounts to 200 euros for households whose reference tax income per consumption unit is less than 10,800 euros. It amounts to 100 euros for households whose reference tax income per consumption unit is between 10,800 euros and 17,400 euros. This exceptional check is added to the one already paid in spring.
- Last limit to correct your taxes online
Notice to laggards: This is the last deadline to correct your 2022 tax return. Whether it was done online or on paper, it is still possible to change it until December 14. After this date, you will need to file a complaint in order to change your return.
If you filed online, the correction service is still accessible through the private space on impots.gouv.fr to correct errors or mention omissions. Dependents, rents, charges, reductions and tax credits as well as the real estate property tax (IFI) can still be corrected. It is also possible to add or delete additional declarations and modify the RIB in case of a change of bank account.
If you filed on paper, you must send a letter to your tax department or file a new paper tax return.
- Christmas bonus payment
December is also the annual return of the Christmas bonus, paid automatically in mid-December. These are beneficiaries of the active solidarity income (RSA), the flat-rate bonus for resuming activity, the specific solidarity subsidy (ASS) or the equivalent pension subsidy (AER).
For RSA beneficiaries, the premium will be paid by the Caf. The amount varies according to the family situation and the number of people in the home: without children (152.45 euros if you live alone, 228.67 euros if you live with a partner), one child (228.67 euros or 274.41 euros) , two children (274.41 euros or 320.14 euros), three children (335.39 euros or 381.12 euros), four children (396.37 euros or 442.10 euros) then 60.98 euros per additional child .
In other cases, the premium will be paid by Pôle emploi. This time, the amount is fixed: it amounts to 152.45 euros regardless of the number of people in the home.
- Launch of the “repair bonus”
Washing machine, television, toaster… The test phase of the “repair bonus” will start on December 15. Provided for by the anti-waste law, this new device should encourage consumers to repair their electrical and electronic equipment instead of replacing them when they break down. This bonus will be between 10 and 45 euros.
Specifically, to benefit from it, you will have to go to the ecosystem.eco site or the ecologic-france.com site to locate the labeled repair points. It will be possible to benefit from this discount -it will be applied directly to the invoice- if you go to one of their locations to repair your device. The bonus will amount, for example, to 10 euros for a kettle, 25 euros for a washing machine or 45 euros for a television.
Please note: this bonus will only be applied after the expiration of the legal guarantees of manufacturers or commercial guarantees, including warranty extensions, and the device must not be covered by insurance.
