Craftsmen, merchants, farmers… the Government eases the burden of the self-employed

Gabriel Attal announced this Thursday morning a “permanent drop” in rates for the self-employed, such as artisans, merchants or farmers.

Faced with inflation, the government wants to lighten the burdens of the self-employed. Guest this Thursday morning at RTL¸ Gabriel Attal announced a “permanent drop” in rates for the self-employed, referring to merchants, artisans and farmers. This measure will affect two thirds of the self-employed, or 1.6 million people.

550 euros for a worker with minimum wage

This relief will mean an average profit of 200 euros per year and up to 550 euros for the most modest whose income is equivalent to the minimum wage. The measure will cost the State 500 million euros a year. “We let our economy hold up, we allow our companies to continue hiring,” added the minister, assuring that there would be “no increase in taxes.”

The decree should be published in the coming days in the Official Gazette.
