Industrial production in France fell 2.6% in October in a month, after a fall of 0.9% in September, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) reported on Friday.
This new setback is explained by a fall in production “in all the major branches”, advances INSEE, which highlights in particular the fall in the extractive industries, energy and water (-5.6% in October, after the 2, 8% in September) and the strong “fall” in coking-refining (-46.3% after -6.5%), “due to the strike movement that affected the refineries”.
