A major power outage took place on Friday morning in the south of the Aube department, affecting 115,000 users, we learned from RTE and Enedis. It was caused by a “technical incident” in the electricity transmission network before power was restored at 12:05 p.m.

The blackout began at 10:50 a.m. Notably deprived hospitals and businesses of power, and also affected the Aube prefecture, said the communication service of Enedis, the distribution network administrator, for the Champagne-Ardenne region. . “115,000 customers” were still “affected as of 11am in southern Aube,” he said, stressing that these were “unscheduled power outages.”

RTE is investigating the origin of the incident, which occurred “at a 225,000 volt electrical substation” located in Creney-prés-Troyes, its press service reported. The equipment is in place, but in the immediate future “there is no deadline for restoration” of the current one, he added.
