Towards an “all-time record” for champagne sales this year

At BFM Business, Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot, acknowledges that supply is struggling to keep up with demand.

Champagne resists everything, even inflation or the geopolitical context. “The year 2022 is even better than 2021,” confirmed this Tuesday on the set of Good Evening Business, Jean-Marc Gallot, CEO of Veuve Clicquot.

“And it’s limited to what we have in terms of selling capacity,” the manager continues, confirming that supply is struggling to keep up with demand. “It is true that he is a bit tense but he is all virtuous.”

“We had a magnificent 2022 vintage”

And explain that “the pandemic has led several countries around the world to rediscover champagne, to consume it at home and not only in bars, restaurants and hotels.”

“Et l’autre bonne nouvelle, c’est qu’on a eu une magnifique vendange 2022 donc dans deux ou trois ans, nous aurons aussi beaucoup de champagne” concluded the director in the mythical maison who sold “95%” of sa production abroad.

There remains the problem of the continuation of inflation that “could play an important role in Europe but we are very proactive,” says the CEO.
