A guest as famous as unlikely broke into the traditional unconventional desires of Publicis. The actor Michael Douglas actually intervened in the video of more than 2 minutes, published on Tuesday by the advertiser on YouTube.
But his presence in this spot has nothing to do with the seventh art, nor with Publicis. Catherine Zeta-Jones’s husband evokes the papillomavirus, a virus at the origin of several types of cancer, including throat cancer that he himself suffered.
If Maurice Levy, chairman of the group’s supervisory board, begins with a usual review of last year, Arthur Sadoun, chairman of Publicis’s board of directors, quickly cuts him off. Instead of talking about their results and their projects, the communication group has chosen precisely this year to take advantage of their anticipated wishes to launch a prevention message.
“80% of adults have the papillomavirus”
“Maurice, did you know that 80% of adults have the papilloma virus,” asks the same man who underwent surgery earlier this year for cancer linked to the papilloma virus. “80% of adults have this virus that causes cancer… the cancer I had,” he continues.
Vaccination little practiced in France
However, as Michael Douglas points out during his intervention in the Publicis video, these cancers could be prevented thanks to vaccination against the papilloma virus.
“And if together we can encourage as many people as possible to get vaccinated, that’s good,” he adds.
As of this writing, the Publicis video has already been viewed more than 14,000 times.
