The pilots of the Corsair airline are called to strike from December 16 to 22 by the national union of airline pilots (SNPL) that did not rule out this Friday extending the notice.
The pilots of the Guadeloupean company Corsair, whose headquarters are located in Rungis (Val-de-Marne), demand a return “to their working conditions prior to Covid” but also a “revaluation of their remuneration to face ‘inflation ‘. “.
Remember that Corsair serves the airports of Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Reunion, Mayotte, Mauritius, Punta Cana, Abidjan and Cotonou from Orly. It also operates connections from Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille and Nantes.
A prolongation of the movement is not excluded.
“After having made significant efforts, especially in terms of compensation” during the Covid-19 pandemic that forced companies to reduce costs as much as possible to overcome the crisis, the pilots believe that their management is not listening.
Considering the latest proposals “provocative”, a call for a strike has been launched for the start of the school holidays until the Thursday before Christmas. The SNPL has not ruled out extending the transfer “for subsequent vacation periods.”
For its part, management says it has offered pilots “a 5% increase in the salary scale” as of January 1, 2023.
An “additional increase” of 3% is expected as of October 1, 2023, which may be improved”, the address also specifies in its press release.
Third French airline
Other revaluations on certain “compensation elements” give rise to an “additional revaluation of 4%,” says the company.
“Overall, management’s proposed measures respond very favorably to claims of loss of purchasing power due to inflation,” the statement concluded.
After going through one of the worst crises in its history, the aviation sector started a slow recovery in 2022 with a successful summer season, but it remains very fragile, in particular due to the gloomy outlook (war in Ukraine, explosion in the cost of energy… .).
Corsair is the third French company after Air France and the companies of the Dubreuil group (Air Caraïbes and French Bee).
