Rexel, an important player in the energy transition

Founded in 1967, the French group for the professional distribution of electrical equipment for the world of energy has established itself as a key player in the energy transition. As an innovative and committed player, Rexel received several awards in 2022, for its Carbon Tracker, on the one hand, and for its ESG (environmental, social, governance) performance.

An actor committed to concrete and innovative solutions

Present in the residential, tertiary and industrial markets, Rexel supports its clients who are looking for energy efficiency solutions for their construction or renovation projects (individual homes, offices, public facilities, production sites, etc.). In addition to the large number of products and solutions for its installer customers, Rexel has made the Carbon Tracker available to them since 2022.

Created internally and launched in the second half of 2022, this tool allows customers to find out from the purchase phase the environmental footprint of the product or solution that they plan to include in their project. It is the first device on the market capable of measuring the carbon impact of a construction site throughout the entire life cycle of the product. Rexel received the “Energy, Climate, Decarbonation” award for its Carbon Tracker at the 2022 Sustainable Industry Trophies, organized by L’Usine Nouvelle; the Publicly Listed Civic Company Award organized by EasyBourse, of the La Banque Postale group; is the winner of the RSE Challenges trophies organized by Nora Barsali in the Environment category, which distinguishes large companies with a positive impact.

multiple commitments

Committed to a corporate responsibility approach for 15 years, the Group recently announced its new PowerUP 2025 strategic roadmap: “On the one hand, we continue to excel in fundamentals, and on the other, we differentiate ourselves through our actions in ESG terms, which contributes to the energy transition of our sector. In this context, our own digital transformation is a decisive driver of the Group’s performance, at all levels.says Anne-Brisce Grasset, Rexel’s director of data transformation.

Aware of the importance of environmental issues for future generations, the company trains its employees in sustainable development through its e-learning platform, Rexel Climate School. “One of my young collaborators was recently nominated for the 2022 Engineering Trophies in the “Tech for good” category by Usine Nouvelle. Our employees can, through their projects, have a real impact on the climate”adds Anne-Brisce Grasset, also a member of the international Women in Rexel network. In 2022, Rexel joined the CAC40 ESG index, which brings together French companies among the CAC Large 60 that demonstrate the best practices in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters.

Rexel plays a driving role within the energy value chain, and the rollout of its PowerUP 2025 strategic roadmap reinforces the overall momentum of long-term climate commitments going from strength to strength, with a desire to consolidate its leadership in growth segments linked to the energy transition.
