The manager of high-voltage lines in France RTE activated this Monday morning “mutual aid” mechanisms with some of France’s neighboring countries to have more electricity in the face of slightly higher-than-expected consumption, said a door-word from the company .
In the case of England, RTE asked its counterpart to reduce French exports by 600 megawatts (MW), or about half of what was planned, between 9 and 10 in the morning.
In the same niche, the company has asked the operators of the Belgian and Italian electricity transmission networks, Elia and Terna, to each get about 300 MW more than expected, the RTE spokesperson said.
