RTE lowers to “medium” the risk of tensions in the electrical network in January

Without excluding it entirely in case of very unfavorable weather conditions, the risk of high voltage in the electrical network is decreasing, according to RTE.

The specter of power outages moves away a bit. According to the latest RTE analysis, the risk of tensions for the electricity grid in January now seems “medium” and no longer “high” as it has been until now.

“As long as energy saving efforts are maintained, this favorable evolution reduces the risk for security of supply compared to the forecast of recent months, in particular for the month of January (…) without being able to exclude it in the event of very unfavorable weather”, estimates RTE in the latest update of its electricity system forecasts for the next four weeks.
