SNCF strike: 2 out of 3 trains running on Friday, detailed forecasts for Christmas

The SNCF controllers’ strike will disrupt traffic this Christmas weekend with two of the three trains running on Friday.

The situation is complicated for Christmas and New Year weekends on the SNCF. Although the unions have not formally called the strike, Sud-Rail and the CGT have maintained their notices, leaving it up to each controller to join or not the movement launched by the national collective ASCT that brings together more than 3,500 members.

Under these conditions, the railway company has anticipated and is already forecasting interrupted traffic as of Friday with 2 out of 3 trains in circulation. In detail, here are the forecasts on the different axes:

  • In the Southeast and on the Atlantic axis: 2 trains of 3
  • In the North: 1 train of 2 (normal Paris-Lille)
  • In the East: 3 out of 4 trains
  • Ouigo: 3 of 4 trains
  • Province/province: 1 in 2 trains
  • Intercities: normal traffic

The SNCF specified that the change and return of tickets will be free.

A first weekend of strike, from December 2 to 5, had led the SNCF to cancel 60% of its TGV and Intercités. A disaster scenario she wants to avoid for Christmas and New Years weekends.
