Bouquets of flowers are piled at the gates of Buckingham Palace. For many Britons, it is important to go lay flowers to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. But it is getting harder and harder to find flowers in London. There isn’t much left in supermarkets and most florists have been left baffled. The buckets are emptied much earlier than usual.
In this store the stock of roses must have tripled, the rose being one of the queen’s favorite flowers. “People buy them individually to leave them at Buckingham Palace.”
And the marathon is far from over for London florists. In this store near Buckingham Palace, orders have already been placed for next weekend, the day before the Queen’s funeral, to ensure that there is as little shortage as possible.
