Normal SNCF traffic for this weekend, except in New Aquitaine

Only the Atlantic axis will be disrupted this New Year’s weekend, with some trains canceled due to a strike by local signalmen.

Traffic on the main line will be normal over New Year’s weekend, with the exception of the Atlantic axis, where some trains will be canceled due to a strike by local signalmen, SNCF said on Thursday, December 29.

“Slightly interrupted” traffic from Intercités to Bordeaux

“TGV traffic (…) will be almost normal on the Atlantic axis with more than 9 out of 10 trains in circulation” and “slightly interrupted” for the Intercités that serve Bordeaux, said a spokesman for the railway group, specifying that “These adaptations are linked to a local signalman social movement in the Bordeaux region.”

At the local level, TER traffic will be for the same reasons “severely interrupted in New Aquitaine from Friday, December 30 to Monday, January 2,” according to the group.

SNCF recommends that travelers “postpone (their) trip or check (their) train or connection the day before at 5:00 p.m. on the TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine site, SNCF Connect or any other mobility application.”

A strike started on the main lines by a collective of controllers had greatly disrupted the Christmas weekend, but an agreement was reached with management and the movement was not renewed.
