Spain officially announced on Friday that it would reinstate “checks” at its airports for travelers from China following the outbreak of covid cases in the Middle Kingdom.
In a brief press conference in Madrid, the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, indicated that these travelers will be asked for “proof that they are negative (…) or a complete vaccination schedule.”
The country is the second European state after Italy to decide on such a measure.
There are no measures at the European level yet
Let us remember that a meeting of the 27 had will take place this thursday on this subject for a “coordinated approach” of the States of the European Union. But no concrete decision has been announced.
In France, according to our information, the Ministry of Transport has asked French airlines and airports to set up a trial verification system in order to be ready without delay when decisions are made at the European level.
The USA joined a growing number of countries on Wednesday (ItalyJapan, South Korea, India and Malaysia) having decided to impose restrictions on travelers from China, in particular the presentation of a negative test.
