Like the red seal, the gray seal will disappear. This economic stamp, the cheapest stamp, will stop being sold from January 1, 2023 at post offices. Officially called “Ecopli”, the gray stamp allows mail or a small package to be sent in four days. Slower distribution, but cheaper postage: 1.14 euros up to 20 grams, 2.28 euros up to 100 grams and 3.92 euros up to 250 grams.
La Poste says it wants to rationalize its range of stamps. The group also justifies the abolition of Ecopli due to its low use: it claims to sell 20 times more green stamps. For those who use these cheap stamps and still have some in their wallet, don’t worry: even after January 1, 2023, although they will no longer be sold at post offices, it will still be possible to use them to send mail.
Note: this removal of the gray seal refers to the sale to natural persons. It will still be available to businesses via a postage meter.
The red seal has also been removed.
The red seal is also about to disappear. This stamp intended for priority letters will also be abolished on January 1st. It will be replaced by a new dematerialized “red electronic card”. For its part, the green seal will not be withdrawn, but its distribution time will increase from two to three days on the same date. Finally, a new turquoise seal (or “Lettre service plus”) for tracked shipments will now be on the market.
