Intermarché, Auchan, Leclerc, Super U: several batches of oysters were withdrawn by RappelConso in various stores on Friday, December 30, on the eve of New Year’s Eve. Most present a risk of contamination with a norovirus, warns the government platform dedicated to the withdrawal of dangerous products.

Nonoviruses are the “main causes of acute gastroenteritis (AGE) in humans of all age groups,” recalls the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES).

“People who have consumed the aforementioned products and who present symptoms of gastroenteritis (vomiting, diarrhea frequently accompanied by moderate fever) are invited to consult their doctor, notifying them of this consumption,” indicates RappelConso.

“Immunocompromised people should be especially attentive to these symptoms, which may suggest a virus infection (Norovirus), responsible for gastroenteritis, whose incubation period can be up to 48 hours,” warns the platform.
