What is Ingeliance’s mission?
We intervene in the development projects of manufacturers and, in general, of large clients. These players are used to outsourcing part of their R&D to companies like Ingeliance. Our sector is growing for two reasons:
- R&D spending becomes more substantial with major industrial contractors. They are in a European competition, even worldwide. To stand out you have to innovate, and therefore invest in research and development of new products;
- The outsourcing rate of this R&D is increasing: For good reason, manufacturers are concentrating on their core business. However, the urgency is to industrialize a product as soon as possible. In order to respond to the needs and developments of their market, they therefore call on cutting-edge expertise that they do not have internally.
Ingeliance engineers and technicians are spread over a large part of France: in the Paris region, in Le Havre, in Toulon and on the Atlantic coast (Cherbourg, Bordeaux, etc.). Our 700 employees, mainly located in France, support the main manufacturers in their technological challenges (decarbonization, digital transformation, etc.).
How are you an innovative partner for major manufacturers?
A relationship of trust has been established between us. Fit for the long haul! Our main customers were already there 20 years ago. We have technical knowledge of your products and processes. In the long term, Ingeliance has developed extremely specialized skills, thus bringing a wealth of experience in product design.
Our know-how is appreciated, because we are multispecialists. Our teams can remarkably model industrial process equipment and visualize its behavior from a computer. No prototype needed! This digital simulation saves time.
What kind of R&D are you involved in?
Historically, Ingeliance has targeted three large business sectors: aeronautics-space-defense (TORCH), The marine Y Energy (including nuclear and renewables). These areas now involve questions of French sovereignty. They are associated with important industrial programs, in which Ingeliance participates.
One of the flagship programs is the decarbonization of merchant ships. Work is underway to, among other things, modify its propulsion system and favor the supply of natural gas. Technological advances of this kind translate differently in other areas. This is the case of air transport. Your desire to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 requires significant changes. This ambitious challenge requires a lot of R&D to design a new generation of aircraft.
Finally, another industrial program to come concerns nuclear submarine design. You should know that its composition makes the nuclear submarine the most complex technological object in the world: nuclear propulsion similar to a mini nuclear power plant, weapons systems, crew, kitchens, beds… All in a confined space, one hundred meters. underwater, and being as quiet as possible. The R&D of such a product is a real challenge, but it is also very exciting work.
Can you name any industry programs you support?
The naval sector, for example, requires hundreds of thousands of hours of work from us. Nowadays, France renews its fleet of nuclear attack submarines. Last year, the Suffren was inaugurated and launched by Emmanuel Macron. Five more submarines of this type will be manufactured. It is in Cherbourg that Ingeliance is working to move and industrialize these submarines. We are helping the French industrialist Naval Group move from a computer modeled submarine to a manufacturing job.
In addition, we are working for another submarine program, started in early 2021. Therefore, Ingeliance is involved in the design. of a new generation of nuclear ballistic missile submarines. This activity will occupy us for the next 20 to 30 years.
In aeronautics, Ingeliance has worked on recent programs for the Airbus A320neo, A330neo and A350 aircraft. His vocation is to create a new generation of engines. We support the French group SAFRAN, particularly in gondola design (surrounding the engine) and thrust reversers (to direct part or all of the thrust forward).
Finally, what are the values that drive Ingeliance?
We look for technological excellence, because that is what our clients expect from us. The quality of our services depends above all on our engineers, our doctors and our technicians. Therefore, we are careful to recruit people who are competent enough to master the right software and thus carry out R&D projects. This commitment to quality is rooted in the support, training, development and career path of our employees.
Intelligence is defined as a service company that gives meaning to our work. We are also a medium-sized company, with strong human values. Business proximity is very strong there. Focus listening, discussion and empowerment to contribute to the quality of life at work for our employeeswe meet the criteria expected by the younger generation.
To conclude, our company is part of growth momentum. And, to grow, you have to recruit. Ingeliance thus opens its doors to future engineers and technicians who are looking for an exciting and stimulating job.
