Will you soon have to work longer? During his New Year wishes, Emmanuel Macron confirmed that he wanted to quickly implement the pension reform, so that it would be applicable from the end of next summer. The French, for the moment, do not seem convinced: 54% of the French declare themselves unfavorable to this reform, a figure that rises 13 points compared to September, according to a survey by Harris Interactive-Toluna for RTL and M6.
The cleavage is clearly political on the issue of pensions. If the supporters of the Republicans declare themselves overwhelmingly in favor (68%) of the reform that the government wants, this is not at all the case for the supporters of La France Insoumise (84% against) or of the National Rally (66%). . oppose), underlines the study. What’s more, if the French are asked about the postponement of the retirement age, barely more than a third declare themselves in favor.
increased optimism
The survey also asked the French about the issues they consider to be a priority in 2023. Unsurprisingly, purchasing power is designated as a priority issue by 76% of respondents, 12 points more than last year. With the issue of pension reform on the horizon and the health crisis still not over, almost seven out of ten French people (67%) also consider the social system a priority, a figure that rises 10 points.
Finally, almost one in two French people (49%) is also concerned about French growth. Despite everything, the French are more optimistic for this new year than for 2022 (48%, 5 points more).
