Clothing, multimedia, household appliances… It’s almost time for bargains: the start of the 2023 winter sales will take place on Wednesday, January 11 at 8 in the morning. The traditional winter promotion period will run for four weeks, until Tuesday, February 7. After disappointing sales this summer, traders are hoping to raise the bar. But the proliferation of year-end promotions, especially Black Friday, does not make the task any easier.
The people of Lorena can now go on the hunt for promotions. The winter sales were launched on Monday, January 2 in the four departments of Lorraine, that is, Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse and Vosges, to limit competition from neighboring Luxembourg, where promotions start at the beginning of January. They will last four weeks and end on Sunday, January 29, just over a week before the rest of mainland France.
Sooner or later abroad
Abroad, the dates are not necessarily the same as in mainland France. The 2023 winter sales will take place from Saturday, January 7 to Friday, February 3 in Guadeloupe and from Wednesday, January 18 to Tuesday, February 14 in Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
In Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, due to the tropical climate of the two Caribbean islands, we will have to wait until Saturday May 6 for the winter sales, which will end on Friday June 2 (summer sales are held in October ).
Finally, in Réunion, the summer sales will begin on Saturday, February 4 – the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere – and will end on Friday, March 3. Note: in Guyana and Martinique, the dates of the winter sales are the same as in mainland France.
