A guest on BFMTV this Tuesday night, the general secretary of the CGT Philippe Martinez denounced the pension reform project carried out by the government of Elisabeth Borne.
According to him, the prime minister’s announcements on Tuesday are considered “an unacceptable statement for all unions.”
A call to strike
For several weeks now, the unions have been opposing the lowering of the legal retirement age and have reported it to the government, without success.
Then, after Elisabeth Borne’s press conference, the main unions, including the CGT, jointly called on the French to mobilize in the streets on January 19.
“If the employees decide, France will be paralyzed,” launched Philippe Martinez. And these interruptions could be extended over time because the union says it is in favor of “renewable strikes in the affected sectors.”
