“We don’t have the same values.” The general secretary of the CGT Philippe Martínez, a guest of BFMTV on Tuesday night after the presentation of the government’s pension reform, confirmed that January 19 will be the first day of the strike against the text. But, are all oppositions welcome?
“I have said it several times, I am not the only one. I know that Laurent Berger agrees 100% with this question,” continued Philippe Martinez. “We do not consider that the unemployment problem in France is foreigners, that all the problems are linked to foreigners… On the contrary, we side with the so-called undocumented workers so that they can regularize and work here. like the others”, the general secretary of the CGT also declared on BFMTV.
If the unionist does not want elected officials or executives of the far-right party, however, he makes the distinction between them and their voters: “We must convince them not to vote for them anymore.”
“They will not be on the street”
Jordan Bardella, president of Agrupación Nacional, said on Tuesday that he wanted to “take” with his party “at the head of the opposition to the pension reform” during his wishes to the press.
“They will not be on the streets because they consider that relations with the unions are useless”, replied Philippe Martinez on BFMTV who underlines the importance of his union’s “internationalist, humanist (and) anti-racist” values: “It is even essential”.
