Unsurprisingly, the pension reform announced Tuesday by the Prime Minister enacts the gradual raising of the statutory retirement age from 62 to 64 years. This is the age from which a worker can theoretically retire.
Specifically, the legal age will be raised progressively at a rate of three months a year from September 1. Therefore, it will be set at 63 years and 3 months in 2027 at the end of the five-year period, then it will reach the goal of 64 years in 2030.
Those born between 1965 and 1966 are the most affected
The reform will be applied as of this year for those born from the second half of 1961 who will have to work three more months.
This measure will be accompanied by an acceleration of the extension of the contribution period, who will pass at 43 that is to say 172 rooms in 2027, ahead of the 2035 horizon set by the 2014 Touraine reform. That’s one additional quarter per year.
This acceleration will modify the contribution periods necessary for a full pension for generations born after September 1961, as shown in the following table.
Finally, remember that from the age of 67, even without these 43 annuities, a full-rate exit will always be possible, as is the case today. 67 years is effectively the discount cancellation age.
