“So I think that one day we will have to make brave decisions and collective decisions (…) Surely we will have to work longer, I think it is common sense and that everyone understands it,” he added.

The annual report of the Pension Guidance Council (COR), a copy of which AFP obtained this Monday, predicts that the pension system, in surplus this year, will see its balance deteriorate “significantly” from 2023, and remains in the red. least until the mid-2030s.

This is enough to reinforce the speech of the executive, who intends to carry out by the summer of 2023 the reform promised by Emmanuel Macron during his campaign, even if it is no longer necessarily a question of a postponement of the legal age to 64 or 65 – compared to 62 today.
