The non-return of kisses in business

Returning to the office in a context of health calm on the covid front does not mean the return of certain old habits, such as the wind, a study underlines.

Covid has changed our professional aspirations but also certain habits at work. The handshake, the kiss between employees have thus been sacrificed on the altar of social distancing.

But while the health crisis seems to have passed today, in the office the new habits are still anchored. According to a study* by Qapa (Adecco), 53% of French people will not kiss their co-workers this year and 37%, who did not before covid, still have no intention of doing so.

return handshake

On the other hand, the handshake is back in force since 41% want it to work again, while in 2021 they were only 27% and in 2020 54%. The refractory are therefore less and go from 52% in 2021 to 39%. this year.

As for the mask, the employees would like to forget about it. 54% of the French are determined to stop wearing a mask in their workplace and only 27% if it is mandatory. 19%, on the contrary, will continue to protect themselves even if their company does not require them to wear a mask.

In terms of transport, users are much more divided. In fact, they are more numerous (39%) who keep the mask even if it is not an obligation and 29% if they are obliged to do so. 32% admit that they will not protect themselves in transport.

Isolation

One thing is certain: at the slightest symptom, isolation is still in order. More than 73% of the French say they will stay home compared to just 48% in 2020 before the start of the epidemic.

An observation that we also find with colleagues who are suffering. Thus, 79% of the French admit that they will ask a sick colleague to stay at home so as not to run the risk of contaminating the rest of the team.

*Methodology: Survey carried out among 1002 people representative of the French national population aged 18 or over. Survey conducted online from the BuzzPress panel of respondents (27,000 people in France). between 30 August 2022 and September 6, 2022.
