VTC platforms and independent VTC driver representatives have signed an agreement on minimum ride income, Uber and the unions announced Wednesday, outlining an “unprecedented” approach to strengthening protections for self-employed workers in the sector. .
In a press release, the American VTC giant indicates that the agreement sets the minimum net income per trip that drivers receive at 7.65 euros, “regardless of the application they use.” The agreement also refers to independent distributors.
An “unprecedented agreement in France”
Uber announces that it has made the decision to apply to passengers, as of February 1, a 27% increase in the minimum price of trips recommended on the platform. This amount will thus go from 8 euros to 10.20 euros, the company specifies.
This agreement arises in the context of the desire of the European Union to grant more rights to those who work through digital platforms.
Touting an “unprecedented agreement in France”, the associations and union organizations representing the VTC sector declared in a separate press release that it was a “first step”, with the aim of “negotiating the other issues facing the VTC drivers” intensifying the debates this year.
