It will not be necessary to travel far to demonstrate this Thursday against the pension reform. The CGT, a member of the inter-union that also includes CFDT, FO, CFE-CGC, CFTC, UNSA, FSU and Solidaires, posted on its website a map of the meetings scheduled for the day.
According to a territorial intelligence note known to BFMTV, 221 actions are planned throughout France and up to 750,000 protesters are expected. There is no unified census, but on its site, the CGT counts more than 190 meeting points in the main cities of the country, visible on the map below.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected in Paris
In Paris, the main point of concentration of the opponents, the demonstration will leave at 1:00 p.m. from the Place de la République in the direction of the Place de la Nation.
Philip Martinez, the general secretary of the CGT said on BFMTV: he expects a massive mobilization to oppose the government’s plans and intends to gather more than two million people in the streets of the capital.
And the general secretary of the CGT to promise that January 19 is only “the first meeting” and “that there will be others.”
