Totalenergies will offer SMEs to renegotiate their “too high” electricity contracts

In BFM Business, Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of Total Energies, refutes the accusations against his group in relation to profits made during the energy crisis caused by the war in Ukraine.

It was from Davos that Patrick Pouyanné gave an interview to BFM Business on January 18, in particular to return to the increase in the cost of electricity, which has risen “very, very high since July”.

Totalenergies acknowledges having signed contracts that “objectively, are too high” and “number of SMEs that are affected by these contracts signed between July and December.”

Renegotiated contracts

The capo also denied having wanted to profit at the expense of companies and individuals. “We don’t gorge ourselves at all,” replied Patrick Pouyanné.

“I am not yet a producer of energy, I produce but not enough. So Totalenergy buys in the market and resells to its clients”, assures the manager, denying a margin of 400 euros contrary to what I understand. It’s much, much weaker than that,” says Patrick Pouyanné.
