Strike on January 19: Enedis reserves the right to file a complaint in case of power outages

EDF also reminds that the employees in the position are obliged to “stop the load drop or increase production to guarantee the balance of the network” in the event of an imbalance between supply and demand.

The tone begins to rise between the CGT Energie and the companies in charge of the production and distribution of electrical energy. Striking workers at EDF threatened power cuts to the offices of certain elected officials and caused major production outages at the plants on Thursday.

They have even intensified considerably, reaching at least the equivalent of twice the consumption of Paris, according to what we learned from the person in charge of the RTE high and very high voltage lines.

Actions that concern Enedis, which “strongly condemns any fraudulent action in the public electricity distribution network that could cause power cuts to its customers, and affect the safety of property and people. These actions do not correspond to the public service missions to which Enedis employees are very attached”, explains the company to the figaro.

It will be necessary to stop production cuts in case of imbalance, warns RTE

“In the event of fraudulent actions in the electrical network, Enedis quickly resorts to teams of technicians, in order to restore the situation as soon as possible for the affected customers”. And to warn that she “systematically files a complaint with the police and gendarmerie services.”

RTE is along the same lines: “as in other sectors, a worker on strike continues to be penalized for acts constituting gross negligence, such as violence or malicious attacks on the network, for example a savage cut” and specifies that “he may request the end of the reductions if the margins are no longer sufficient to guarantee the security of the electricity supply”.

EDF also reminds that the employees in the position are obliged to “stop the load drop or increase production to guarantee the balance of the network” in the event of an imbalance between supply and demand.

On behalf of the CGT, we fully justify these actions by minimizing the risks for the end customer. “From the moment there are strikes, there will be a drop in production. Whoever says a drop in production at the energy level is not a cut but a drop in production. Before the production cuts hit the cuts, it takes a while,” he said. Céline Verzeletti, the CGT’s confederal secretary, said on BFMTV on Thursday.
