EDF continues to revise upwards the financial impact of the drop in electricity production

This impact is now estimated at €29 billion for the 2022 financial year, compared to the €24 billion announced at the end of July.

The note is still a bit heavier. In a press release, EDF announced on Thursday that it had again revised upwards the estimated impact of the drop in production on its accounts.

“In the state of the information available to the group, based on the estimate of nuclear production in France for 2022 in the lower part of the range of 280-300 TWh and forward prices from 2022 to September 13, 2022, the estimate of the impact of the fall in production on the EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization-Editor’s Note) of the group for 2022 is revalued around -29,000 million euros”, specifies EDF in its note of press.
