In a press release published at the end of this two-day meeting, the ministers first assured that they wanted to “diversify” their commercial relations, in the face of an increasingly tense geopolitical environment.
“We, the G7 Trade Ministers, stress that the diversification of trade and the expansion of trade relations on a mutually beneficial basis are essential to…enhancing the resilience and sustainability of our economies,” the ministers said. .

A financial mechanism for the reconstruction of Ukraine
The G7 states also addressed Russia and its invasion of Ukraine, while Ukraine’s Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenk was invited.
To support Kyiv, the ministers also discussed a “financial mechanism”, aimed at pooling public and private funds for the future reconstruction of Ukraine. Last June, the group’s heads of state announced that they wanted to “support the reconstruction of Ukraine through an international conference and a reconstruction plan.”
