French construction giant Vinci posted a net profit of more than 64% in 2022, driven by its infrastructure concessions such as highways, construction and energy.
The group obtained 4,260 million euros of net profit, for a turnover of 61,675 million, 25% more.
More than half of the profits come from the highways, or 2,200 million euros (+15%). The net profit of the concessions in general, which also includes the airports managed by Vinci, almost doubled to 2.7 billion euros (i.e. +96.3%, compared to a negative 2021 for Vinci Airports).
The manna of the roads
Vinci Energies has a profit of 693 million euros (+25%), and Vinci Construction, the main division of the group (half of the turnover) has a net profit of 680 million (+19%).
“In a particularly disturbed geopolitical and macroeconomic context, Vinci achieved a high-quality overall performance in 2022. This illustrates the resilience of the group’s economic model and the tremendous adaptability of its companies,” said its CEO, Xavier Huillard, quoted in the group press. release.
“The strong increase in billing and results is accompanied by record free cash generation,” he adds.
