The airline Air India has reached an agreement with the American manufacturer Boeing for which it foresees a firm order for 220 planes, with an option for 70 more planes, according to a US government source.
The 190 737 MAX aircraft, the 20 787 models and the 10 777X aircraft are added to the 250 examples for which Air India has signed a letter of intent with the European manufacturer Airbus, also announced on Tuesday.
The chairman of Indian conglomerate Tata Group, which owns Air India, announced on Tuesday that he had signed a letter of intent on an order for 250 Airbus aircraft.
This letter refers to 210 single-aisle and 40 double-aisle aircraft, he said during a video conference ceremony in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
