As a result of the union and experience of the Satar, Transcosatal and Guidez groups, Primever Group is today the leading French group in the transport and integrated logistics of fruit and vegetables. It operates through 52 platforms in France, covering more than 60 collection and delivery departments in 9 European countries to 6,000 wholesale or supermarket customers. It has 4 different strategic business areas. The Primever Group is especially involved in the transport of fruit and vegetables in France and Europe, connecting production areas with consumption areas. The company also operates in three other areas, which are international, through air or sea traffic operations with related customs activities, logistics or even transport and distribution by full trucks and organization of groupage.
The people at the heart of the organization
With 2,600 employees in France and Europe, the group intends to continue investing in people, which it considers its main asset. “We have a voluntary training policy, we convert more than 50% of our internships and work-study contracts into permanent contracts and we have even created a BAC+3 certification training course in collaboration with ISTELI” explains Julien Garnier. The challenge for the coming years is to recruit the right talent to support the growth of the group and continue to guarantee quality service to its customers.
A strong environmental commitment
For several years, the group has implemented a CSR plan with specific objectives based on innovation and sustainable development with the aim of significantly reducing its CO2 consumption. Regarding transport, Primever has invested in a fleet of state-of-the-art trucks that are more respectful of the environment and that comply with the EURO6 regulations. In addition, thanks to the density of its network and the active forces implemented throughout the national territory, the flows of round-trip trips are optimized to reduce the number of kilometers travelled. This is possible, in particular, due to the complementarity between the know-how of the people on site and a DATA department that is constantly developing in the group. In terms of infrastructure, the group has installed photovoltaic power plants near its platforms in order to reduce its energy consumption by developing self-consumption.
Already a leader in the French fruit and vegetable transport and logistics market, the Primever Group now wishes to continue its development through a logic of geographical expansion to meet the demand of its customers. “Our mission is to market products for our customers on a daily and qualitative basis. For this reason, we want to develop our activity by looking for additional production areas in France and outside our borders and expand our range of services for our customers” explains Julien Garnier. In addition to being a major player in the market, the Primever Group continues to be, through its activity, an essential cog in the food supply chain in France. The group intends to continue its development at the service of its customers with the desire to trace the paths of new generation transport.
