Union leaders meet on March 2, five days before “crippling France”

The inter-union has never gotten along so well. Most of the leaders of the eight organizations and their Loire departmental representatives meet far from the capital on March 2 to discuss the continuation of the movement.

The intersyndicale has added a date to its anti-retirement reform calendar: on March 2 it meets in a public meeting in La Ricamarie (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), near Saint-Etienne, to consult on future actions to be taken, especially for the day they want to “stop France”.

Union leaders almost all present

The departmental representatives of the eight unions will be present during this meeting which will take place at the end of the afternoon and will be accessible to all, according to Eric Blachon, general secretary of FO Loire. But not only. The national leaders of the centrals will also be there with two absences: Laurent Berger, CFDT general secretary, on leave, will be replaced by his number 2, Marylise Léon, while the CFTC, apparently, has not been able to rush anyone.

As expected, March 7 will be a topic discussed during this meeting. The organizations have been announcing for several days their intention to harden the movement and have erected this coming Thursday as a symbol of the fight against the decrease in the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years.

In more general terms, they will talk about how to “fight against this reform”, explains Eric Blachon.

The bill that divides the French, has mobilized the streets since January 19 and has sparked passions in the Assembly will arrive in the Senate on March 2 while all political debates on the text must be completed by the end of the month.
