To reactivate its tourism, Taiwan will offer 155 euros to each visitor

The offer is limited to 500,000 people and 90,000 tourist groups will also be able to benefit from a reward of up to 619 euros.

While air traffic is picking up strongly, long-haul travel is still affected, particularly due to prices that have been rising sharply for over a year.

To reactivate its tourism, a strategic sector, Taiwan takes out the checkbook. The archipelago will thus offer $165 to each international visitor who spends their vacation there. 500,000 tourists will be able to enjoy it this year, transmits CNN Travel.

90,000 tourist groups will also be able to benefit from a reward of up to 619 euros.

Only 900,000 visitors last year compared to 12 million in 2019

Tourists will be able to use this (digital) money to cover their expenses in Taiwan, including accommodation.

Let’s remember that the island lifted its restrictions last October, after one of the longest border closures in the world.

Other countries in the region have similar ideas. The Hong Kong government announced in early February that it was offering 500,000 plane tickets to get there. And it indicates at the same time that the mask will no longer be an obligation as of this Wednesday, March 1.
