Former Secretary of State Mounir Mahjoubi is a businessman again

The former Secretary of State opens this Monday a platform for vacation rentals and the sale of second-hand products.

The former Secretary of State for Digital, Mounir Mahjoubi-Jozefowicz, creator of several companies before entering politics, returned to being an entrepreneur when he launched a vacation rental and second-hand product sales site with associates on Monday.

This site, named Eversy, claims its participation in the circular economy, products selected for their quality or low environmental impact, as well as a lower commission than its competitors. The team consists of ten people.

Attract “one million buyers and sellers by 2024”

The goal is to attract “one million individual and small professional buyers and sellers by 2024,” an ad in the JDD the former Secretary of State, who seeks to compete with platforms such as Airbnb and Abritel on the tourism side, and ebay or Selency on second-hand items.

“With us, you will find carbon-free bicycles and scooters, but not two-wheeled thermal vehicles,” underlines Mounir Mahjoubi, who in the past co-founded “La Ruche qui dit oui”, a network to buy local products. Educated at Sciences-Po, Mounir Mahjoubi approached Emmanuel Macron’s campaign team in 2016, for which he became a web adviser.

In 2017, at just 33 years old, invested by En Marche! he was elected deputy for the 19th arrondissement of Paris, winning a constituency in the hands of the PS for 20 years. After the 2017 elections, Emmanuel Macron entrusted him with the digital portfolio, a sector he knows well since he had been president of the National Digital Council in 2016-2017. In March 2019, he left the government to enter the race for mayor of Paris, but the presidential party preferred to invest in Benjamin Griveaux. Mounir Mahjoubi remained a deputy for Paris until 2022.
