Pension reform: a “free toll” operation organized in Senlis in the Oise

At the call of the Sud Solidaires union, about sixty trade unionists carried out a “free toll” operation on Sunday in Senlis, in the Oise, in protest against the pension reform and the use of 49.3 by the government.

The mobilizations against the pension reform continue, with multiple actions at the request of the unions. Sud Solidaires thus called on protesters on Sunday to organize a “free toll” operation in Senlis, in the Oise, on the eve of the vote, in the National Assembly, on motions of no confidence against the government.

Some sixty demonstrators, concentrated in front of the toll station of the A1 motorway, facilitated the passage of motorists traveling from the north of France to Paris. If they can save a few euros by not paying the toll, they were presented with a strike fund for the occasion, which also allowed them to show their support for the strikers.

“I am totally with them, I am very proud of them,” a motorist who gave the money she planned to allocate to the toll to the strike fund confessed to the BFMTV microphone.

Numerous spontaneous demonstrations and rallies have sprung up across France since Thursday, the day the government announced the choice to activate 49.3 to approve the pension reform without a vote by deputies.

The government will face the vote of the deputies on Monday on the two motions of censure presented by the RN for one and by the independent group Liot for the other.
