Access to the Bugey (Ain) nuclear power plant was blocked on Tuesday morning by employees who oppose the pension reform. The strikers, numbering between 300 and 400 according to the CSE secretary, Christophe Paul (CGT), only let through the guards dedicated to security-related activities.
The communication department confirmed the blockade, without giving figures, and insisted that “respect for the security of the facilities” was ensured.
Filtering dam on the RN122
In the Lyon region, in addition, the TotalEnergies refinery in Feyzin (Rhône) has ceased its shipments since Monday. According to Jeff Vapillon, a FO union member and site employee, the advisory stands and the storage tanks are close to full, which could lead to a production stoppage in the afternoon.
In the morning, traffic was also disrupted around the Lyon agglomeration at several points during leaflet distribution. At the Perrache station, around 150 demonstrators invaded the track temporarily, calmly, according to an AFP photographer. Partly equipped with union numbers, they also tried to blockade the M7 urban boulevard in the immediate vicinity, which they succeeded for the first time, but not for the second time, prevented by the police.
A leaflet distribution also caused a huge traffic jam on the Villeurbanne ring road. Furthermore, in Cantal, some fifty inter-union activists organized a filter dam on the RN122 near the Lioran tunnel, an AFP correspondent noted.
