President Emmanuel Macron said he regretted “that no union force has proposed a compromise” during a television interview on TF1 and France2 on Wednesday.
“Là où historiquement, the union forces could propose des compromis, on nous a dit “aucune réforme”. (…) Il already aussi une tendency dans notre démocratie à vouloir s’abstraire du principe de réalité” at- he says.

The President of the Republic “indicates that the Secretary General of the CFDT had gone before his congress proposing to increase the durations, it was not fulfilled but he had that desire to work more.”
A few minutes later, Laurent Berger, general secretary of the CFDT, reacted by accusing Emmanuel Macront of “lying”.
There was “no compromise proposal, it was made by the government, by Parliament, but we must move on,” Emmanuel Macron stressed.
