SNCF: the low-cost TGV Ouigo will serve Perpignan from Monday

The Ouigo Paris-Montpellier link will be extended to Perpignan from Monday with a daily round trip.

The SNCF will extend from Monday an Ouigo Paris-Montpellier to Perpignan, a new stage in a policy of extension of its low-cost TGV, it indicated on Friday.

This daily round trip will connect Gare de Lyon, Paris, Perpignan, in 5 hours 01 one way and 5 hours 18 return, via Valence TGV, Nîmes-Pont du Gard, Montpellier Sud de France, Sète, Agde, Béziers and Narbonne. SNCF Voyageurs sells tickets from 19 euros. Departure from Paris at 8:23 a.m. to arrive at the center of the world of Salvador Dalí at 1:24 p.m., and return at 3:04 p.m. to arrive in Paris at 8:22 p.m.

25% of TGV traffic through Ouigo by 2025

For the general director of SNCF Voyageurs, Christophe Fanichet, the low-cost TGV Ouigo is “a success”, with more than 110 million trips in ten years. “Periodically, we add destinations. (…) Our goal is that, by 2025, 25% of our high-speed traffic in France will be carried out by Ouigo, compared to 20% today,” he said in an interview with echoes this Friday.

The completion of the works north of Orléans will at the same time allow, still from Monday, to put back into circulation a tenth daily round trip for the Intercités between Paris and Limoges.

“This translates into a more balanced distribution of the offer offered throughout the day, as well as additional stops at 8 stations on this line and in each direction,” says SNCF Voyageurs.
