Supporting growth through its partner ecosystem

[CONTENU PARTENAIRE] Increasingly, companies are making a strong decision to accelerate their growth by developing an ecosystem. Startups in particular have understood that mastering their ecosystem is essential for their development. The Beaver Partner consultancy supports them in their alliance strategies. Sébastien, CEO and Co-Founder, and Samantha, COO and Co-Founder, talk to us about these trends.

What services does Beaver Partner offer?

Samantha Moreau: Beaver Partner is a strategic consulting firm specializing in alliances and partnerships. We work primarily in the IT field and target companies of all sizes, but especially start-ups and growing companies.

Our support is based on three main offerings that are all aligned with the growth challenges for companies. Our offers focus on alliances, direct sales and marketing for business development. Each offer is structured according to the same chronology, with an audit, the definition of a strategy and support for the deployment of this strategy. We also offer the deployment of a PRM (Partner Relationship Management) solution dedicated to managing partner relationships.

Why should companies focus on collaborative strategies?

Samantha: Alliances are a lever for growth, according to the saying “together we go further”.

Sebastien Moreau: Historically, relationships were completely unbalanced and issues were never reviewed. More than 70% of the alliances failed after 5 years. Our mission is to support start-ups in their partnerships with a win-win, balanced, structured and sustainable approach.

How does the ecosystem impact the business?

Sebastian: If we refer to the theory of circles of influence, the ecosystem is the set of concentric circles that determine from the zone of influence to the zone of interest. The ecosystem and its control have a direct impact on the control of these areas and allow a company to reduce uncertainties.

How is alliance management increasingly being structured?

Samantha: We are convinced that alliances should be, if not a strategy in themselves, at least included in the global strategy of the company.

Sebastian: Initiated in the United States a few years ago, the “decade of the ecosystem” is the movement that places those in charge of alliances as future CEOs of companies, due to the highly correlated areas of intervention of both profiles.

Are you launching new services for your clients?

Sebastian: In March we are going to publish an e-book that provides some keys to managing alliances and the ecosystem: what is the role of an alliance manager, what is a sustainable alliance or how to define a partner scorecard.

Recently, Beaver Partner has been supporting VCs, VDDs or startups in the due diligence phase of fundraising. We conduct a “flash audit” of the alliance and partnership strategy of startups targeted by VCs, allowing us to quickly demonstrate a track record and issue recommendations.
