Small companies subject to a sharp rise in energy prices can still send their certificate to benefit from state measures “until June” and the aid will be retroactive, the delegate minister for SMEs, Olivia Gregory, said on Tuesday.
The energy bills from the main providers for January and February “are arriving”, with a small delay compared to other years, explained Olivia Grégoire at BFM Business.
This delay is due to taking into account the damper, a device that should relieve companies from 15 to 20% of their electricity bill and that is paid by the State.
The buffer, which extends throughout the year 2023, concerns small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which employ between 10 and 249 people and whose turnover is less than 50 million euros. To benefit from it, the company must provide a certificate to Bercy.
The retroactive damper
It will also be possible to distribute the bill payments for the first two months of the year, said Olivia Grégoire.
These companies can also go to the help desk to pay gas and electricity bills, also accessible to companies with more than 250 employees.
To benefit from it, the energy bill must have increased by at least 50% between 2021 and the two-month period for which the company requests the aid, and that the energy bill represents at least 3% of the billing during the two months .
Of the 12,000 million euros allocated to this aid, “we do not use a billion”, the minister also specified.
