In the Council of Ministers on Thursday, the cabinet approved a financing system that guarantees up to 150 million euros per year for investment projects of large companies that are prevented from participating in the PT2030.
“The projects of large companies will benefit from financing of up to EUR 150 million per year until the end of 2027, within the framework of the incentive schemes for companies not eligible for support from the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund, are framed in the contractual investment regime (RCI), as long as they respect the European state aid framework,” said a note from the Ministry of Economic Affairs sent to editors on Friday.
In the Council of Ministers, the government explains that this system of financial incentives aims “to guarantee the continuity of investment support in the 2021-2027 programming period, given the changes in current European regulations with regard to support for investment projects by large companies”. preventing some entities from competing for community funds.
For example, between 2021 and 2027, the executive will “continue to support the investment, employment and economic activity of large companies, and ensure that the granting of financial incentives to projects with a structuring effect, covered by the RCI, which increase supply, of innovative goods and services, which stimulate demand for complementary goods in other sectors and have knock-on effects on different economic agents,” the same note said.
